Description

Holy Basil steam distilled water, traditionally known as the ark, is technically referred to as Hydrosol. This is steam-distilled water that contains the water-soluble nutrients of the herb Holy Basil.

This ark has multiple uses in our life from being an effective medicine (preventive and curative remedy) to a useful skincare ingredient.

WHAT IS SHAYMA TULSI /HOLY BASIL

Shyama Tulsi or Holy Basil is an aromatic shrub with exceptional medicinal value usually found in every Indian home. Holy Basil/Tulsi’s scientific name is Ocimum Sanctum. It is purple to dark-colored leaves and is considered the best of all the basil breeds amongst the Rama tulsi or Vana Tulsi and other basil varieties available. The nature of holy basil is warm hence helps normalize Kapha and vata.

Basil leaves benefits are known to almost every Indian but the convenience attached to the allopathic pills have pushed aside the Ayurveda healing and medicinal herbs. And this simply over the years has made it a secondary line of treatment thus rendering it ineffective.

In Ayurveda, the holy basil is known as “Mother Medicine of Nature” and “The Queen of Herbs”. With its spiritual and medicinal properties, the herb is revered as the elixir of life. The emerging science on holy basil suggests basil leaves as a tonic to the human body with pharmacological benefits.

MAKING OF HOLY BASIL ARK/HYDROSOL AT SNAANA

At SNAANA the steam distilled hydrosol of holy basil is made with basil leaves and stems. The fresh herb is cut and steam distilled in which the steam passes through the herb and turns to droplets of water when it comes in contact with the condenser. It is like our earth’s rain process of evaporation- condensation, and droplets of water. This ancient process is considered best even today because of it being totally chemical and preservative-free. The collected droplets of water are free of contamination, debris thus making it stay good for more than a year when stored properly.

Holy Basil cultivation is also done at SNAANA farms just to ensure pesticide-free produce. Purity and preservative-free make this ark a healthy synthetic-free choice in the right treatment and upkeep of the body.
